Santa Ana Artswalk

One of the things I love about downtown Santa Ana is the proliferation of artist lofts and galleries that have happened in the last couple of years. In the heart of Orange County, we have this developing arts scene and a number of really creative and talented people are building brilliant careers and contributing to the community.

I’d like to invite you to visit the vibrant Arts Village in downtown Santa Ana this Saturday. On the first Saturday of every month from 7-10pm, gallery owners and artists host the Santa Ana Artwalk with some of Southern California’s most interesting art on display and available for purchase.

The Artist Village is located on the four block 2nd Street Promenade between Broadway Avenue and Spurgeon Street in Downtown Santa Ana.

OSCHA Preview Days: Register Now

Supporting the arts in Orange County and Santa Ana is very important to me. OCHSA usually hosts two preview days each year for prospective students. I was going to encourage you to bring your artistic children to the Nov. 20 preview day, but it’s full. So, I highly recommend registering now for the Saturday, January 8th session.

Click here http://www.ocsarts.net/previewdays to register and here’s a little bit more about the school:

Students of all ages who are passionate about the arts and looking for opportunities to discover and develop their talents are invited to join the Orange County High School of the Arts. Whether you want pre-professional arts training and an award-winning academic program as a full-time student (7th-12th grade), or would like to enroll in part-time summer, weekend or evening community arts classes, the Orange County High School of the Arts is the place for you.

Join us for the 2011-2012 school year—paint, dance, write, film, sing, design, act, play an instrument—get inspired today!

Each three-hour Preview Session will provide prospective parents/students with a general overview of the school’s academic and arts programs, presented by Dr. Ralph Opacic, executive director, and president, and members of the school administration. Student applicants and their families will also have the opportunity to meet with the Arts Conservatory directors and take a tour of the campus.

Good luck with all your school plans for 2011-2012!
